My Story
A Journey Back to Truth and Authenticity
Growing up, I was surrounded by the whispers of wisdom from a world deeply connected to nature, community, and purpose. Words like “Be the change you want to see in the world” or “Whatever the mind can conceive, and believe, it can achieve” weren’t just quotes scribbled in my notebook—they were seeds planted in my heart. They hinted at something bigger, even though I didn’t fully understand it at the time.
In those days, food wasn’t just sustenance; it was healing. Without realizing it, we lived in harmony with nature. Our meals were vibrant and alive, picked fresh from our garden—whole, unprocessed, and nourishing. In our culture, food was always more than fuel. It was a bridge that brought families, and communities together, a silent but powerful way of saying, “We’re in this together.”. Food is truly medicine.
We rose with the sun, and as it set, our day came to a gentle close. The rhythm of nature was our guide, and we moved through life with a sense of balance that now feels almost foreign in a world of endless hustle. Evenings were sacred—a time for connection, laughter, and simple joy. The word hectic didn’t exist in our vocabulary.
Chores were not a burden but a foundation for responsibility. Playing outdoors was our gym, and sports were encouraged not for competition but for the love of movement. Rest was a natural rhythm too—early to bed, early to rise. Life had a flow that felt peaceful and purposeful. Each aspect of our life worked collectively in balance allowing us to live joyfully aka, healthy.
Even our spiritual practice was seamless, woven into our daily lives. The temple wasn’t just a place of worship; it was food for our soul. It reminded us to make daily deposits into our spiritual bank account—not through rituals alone, but through how we treated others and how we lived. Hinduism, as I learned it, wasn’t a religion but a way of life. It wasn’t preached; it was practiced through words, thoughts, deeds, and actions.
My Mother’s Light, Dimmed
Among all these lessons, my mother’s story shaped me the most. In her late 20s, she was a radiant force. Her laughter lit up a room, and people were drawn to her inner light. But her marriage placed her in an environment that stifled her essence. A culture that valued conformity over authenticity slowly chipped away at her spark.
She fought back the only way she knew—through her love of singing. Singing gave her life, but every time she did, she was admonished. Over time, the push to conform outweighed her will to resist. The vibrant, joyful woman I once knew became sad, angry, and hollow inside.
Watching my mother lose herself to cultural expectations left a mark on me. I saw the damage done when a woman is forced to abandon her authentic self, and I promised myself I wouldn’t let that happen to me—or to other women.
My Journey to Living My Truth
Like my mother, I didn’t think like the crowd. I spoke my mind, much to the disapproval of those around me. But as I grew older, the weight of expectations grew heavier. At 20, my marriage was arranged. My education was deemed complete, and I was expected to fulfill the roles society had laid out for me.
In my culture, this is often seen as normal. Parents and elders follow what generations before them did, maintaining tradition and avoiding disruption. In a society that discourages critical thinking and individuality, women are expected to follow the rules—to fit the mold. And for many, this means losing their authentic selves.
But I couldn’t ignore the voice inside me, the one urging me to live my truth. It wasn’t easy. I faced resistance, criticism, and judgment. But the pain of living a life that wasn’t mine was far greater than the fear of breaking free.
Living My Purpose
Today, I’ve made it my mission to help women do what I did: find the courage and confidence to live their truth. No one should have to settle for a life not of their choosing. I want women to know that they don’t have to conform, sacrifice their dreams, or silence their voices to fit into a mold.
Life is meant to be lived joyfully, authentically, and unapologetically. I want to show women that it’s possible to reclaim their essence, to step into their power, and to embrace a life that feels true to who they are.
Because when women live their truth, they don’t just change their own lives—they inspire others to do the same. And in doing so, they create ripples of authenticity, joy, and freedom that can transform families, communities, and even the world.
This is my purpose. This is my truth. And I’m here to help others find theirs.
